Mr. Rogers, an attorney and accountant by profession, designs estate/asset protection plans. He founded Sweetwater Law Offices, PLC, an estate and charitable planning law firm, in Longwood (Orlando), Florida in 1981 and Wealth Strategies Collaborative, Inc. in 2000, a collegial group of attorneys nationwide, who collectively combine their expertise designing asset protection and wealth preservation plans. Mr. Rogers received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting, cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. from Ohio Northern University.

Mr. Rogers is a frequent lecturer and instructor on estate planning and asset protection techniques for accountants, attorneys, financial planners, stock brokers, insurance agents, and the public. Prior to practicing law, Thom practiced in the tax departments of international, regional and local accounting firms. Mr. Rogers also served as a Board Supervisor in the State of Florida for the Deer Island Community Development District and as an Arbitrator for the State of Florida relative to the Lemon Law.

Mr. Rogers is a member of The Florida Bar, the Florida Institute of CPAs, the American Association of Attorneys and CPAs and Wealth Counsel, LLC. He founded the Wealth Strategies Collaborative Institute and the Central Florida Estate Planning Institute. He is a former member of The Florida Bar’s Committee on Relations between Attorneys and CPAs and served on the executive committee of the Central Florida Estate Planning Council. He is a member of the Florida Hospital Foundation Planned Giving Committee and the Ronald McDonald Home Planned Giving Advisory Committee.

Thom is a former executive committee member of the Members Advisory Board of the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, a member of the Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, and a fellow and former faculty member of the Esperti Peterson Institute, an organization of Global Wealth Strategists.

He was a contributing author and reviewer for Cutting Edge Conspectus, a technical estate planning journal for attorneys, CPAs, and professional advisors. He was a contributing author to a comprehensive estate planning guidebook for the general public, Generations: Planning Your Legacy, 2000, the Esperti Peterson Institute and a contributing author to a comprehensive charitable planning guidebook for the general public, Giving: Philanthropy For Everyone, 2002.

In November, 2005 Mr. Rogers presented a day long program on Asset Protection Planning at Ohio Northern University. He has been an instructor for the Academy of Multidisciplinary Practice, Inc., a Virtual University and Technology Department of Michigan State University. He has also been an instructor for the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys and the Esperti Peterson Institute on such topics as: Engagement Letters, a seminar for attorneys that covers the importance for having agreements between professionals and their clients and what should be included in them. Family Limited Partnerships: the Basics, an introductory program; Family Limited Partnerships: Practicum III, a comprehensive one day program designed to help attorneys with the drafting of Family Limited Partnership Agreements. Other programs include: Comparing forms of doing business as a Corporation, Partnership, or Limited Liability Company, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Advanced Irrevocable Life Insurance, Transitioning from a Living Trust Practice to the Advanced Planning Practice, Maintaining Estate Plans, Asset Protection Trusts, and Saving for College Plan, including 529 Plans.
